Who We Are
Hope for Tomorrow Guatemala, is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to building the kingdom of God.
Our Mission is to feed the hungry, heal the sick,
and bring hope to the hopeless.
Why We Are Involved
According to USAID, 47% of children under the age of 5 suffer from chronic malnutrition in Guatemala. This is the highest rate in all of Latin America and the Caribbean and one of the highest rates in the world.
Childhood malnutrition causes inadequate brain and organ development, frequently resulting in permanent physical and intellectual impairment.
Our Guatemalan partners travel up the mountain to the remote village of El Chico once a week to feed the children and connect with the families. We have built a trusting relationship with the families, the children, and the teachers in local schools. Sharing the gospel message is an integral part of each visit.
Our vision is a Guatemala where:
Through the generous support of our donors and partner churches, we have been able to expand the feeding ministry to include additional meals and needed healthcare services for the children and families we serve.
Our focus is to improve the overall health of the families from pre-conception on, and supplement the diets of the children as necessary to insure proper physical and mental development.
Our hope, for tomorrow’s Guatemala, is to increase the number of healthy young adults who can fully engage in making positive contributions for lasting change in their society.
